F r e q u e n t l y A s k e d Q u e s t i o n s :
What do I need to practice:
- All you need is yourself, a little water, some great motivation, and comfortable, plain clothes. (Solid color tee shirts, sweats, etc.) As you progress, uniforms and belts will become necessary, but to begin, just show up.
How much do practices cost?
- Club dues are $50 per month, but your first few practices are free. Uniform costs, belt test and special practice fees will arise as well but remember: "ohana means family; family means no one gets left behind". Never let money stand in your way.
Is Tae Kwon Do safe?
- Because we practice a non-contact form of Tae Kwon Do, people of all ages, shapes, and sizes can feel comfortable practicing with us. Children, adults, the elderly, and even people with disabilities can practice together at their own individual level. (As with any physical exercise, people with certain health problems will need to check with their physician to make sure they are healthy enough to participate.)
Why a non-contact form of TKD?
- Practicing a non-violent form allows us to follow the true spirit of the martial artist: Endless peace emanating from an indomitable spirit. I practice with my friends, why would I want to hit them?
What if I have experience from a different school of martial art?
- We recognize belts from students in the World Martial Arts Association. If you have prior experience from another association you will begin at the white belt level as with all new students in the class. We ask that participants that have knowledge of other martial arts refrain from practicing that material in class even during warming up as it can be quite distracting for other students in the class.
